How to Automate Sales Emails & Follow-ups With AI (No Coding!)
Are you sick of spending hours on sales tasks that never

you how to build your own AI sales assistant using N8N. All you need to do is
provide the client’s details, and the workflow will automatically collect
information, research their company, and create personalized follow-up emails
and messages.

All your data neatly goes into Google Sheets — so your leads stay organized
without any manual effort.
Step 1: Get the N8N Workflow
To create a sales assistant AI agent, we follow four steps.
The first step is to download the workflow.
Click the link in the description, click Download,
and the Sales Assistant AI workflow will be saved. To download this workflow,
you need to have N8N hosting on Webspace Kit.
Since I’ve already logged in, it downloads directly.

Once you have the hosting and the workflow downloaded:
- Go
to your N8N account
- Click
Start from Scratch
- Click
Import from File
- Upload
the workflow file you downloaded
You’ll now see the workflow on your screen.
Why You See Warning Icons in the Workflow
After importing, you may notice warning signs on the nodes.
These indicate that some nodes still need configuration.
So to make the workflow fully functional, we need to set up these nodes and
connect them.
Step 2: Connect Google Sheets to N8N
We need Google Sheets because the workflow will send all
your lead data, AI outputs, and updates into the Sheet automatically.
Connecting Google Sheets
- Open
the Google Sheets node
- Click
Create New Credentials
- Enter
your Client ID and Client Secret
Get Credentials From Google Cloud Console
- Click
the link in the description
- Agree
to the terms
- Click
New Project
- Name
your project and click Create
- Select
your project
- Go
to APIs & Services → OAuth Consent Screen
Set Up OAuth Consent Screen
- Click
Get Started
- Add
an App Name
- Select
your email address
- Choose
External
- Add
your email
- Accept
data policies
- Click
Create
Create OAuth Client ID
- Go
to OAuth Client IDs
- Choose
Web Application
- Add
the Redirect URL from N8N
- Click
Create
Copy the Client ID and Client Secret into the
N8N Google Sheets node.
Enable Google APIs
In Cloud Console:
- Search
Google Sheets API → Enable
- Search
Google Drive API → Enable
Then:
- Go
to OAuth Consent Screen
- Select
Audience
- Click
Publish App
Return to N8N and save.
Connect to Your Sheet Template
- Click
the Sheets link in the description
- A
template will open
- Click
Make a Copy
- Rename
it to AI Sales Assistant
Add:
- Client
details
- Products
with descriptions
- Success
stories with testimonials
This helps the AI generate accurate, personalized emails and
SMS messages.
Back in N8N:
- Select
your new Google Sheet
- Open
other Google Sheets nodes — they connect automatically
Now Google Sheets is successfully connected.
Step 3: Connect OpenAI to N8N
OpenAI is the brain of your workflow — it generates:
- Outreach
emails
- Follow-up
messages
- SMS
scripts
- Company-specific
solutions
Add OpenAI API Key
- Open
the OpenAI node
- Click
Create New Credentials
- Click
the link in the description
- Sign
in
- Click
Create New Secret Key
- Name
your key
- Copy
the API key
- Paste
it into N8N
⚠️ You must add a payment
method on OpenAI before generating a key.
Once added, the second OpenAI node will auto-connect.
Step 4: Connect Tavily (Company Research Tool)
Tavily provides real-time:
- Company
information
- Lead
details
- Industry
insights
This helps the AI personalize outreach content accurately.
Connect Tavily
- Open
the Tavily node
- Scroll
to the API key section
- Click
the link in the description
- Sign
in
- Create
a new key
- Copy
and paste it into N8N
Now Tavily is successfully connected.
Step 5: Execute Your Workflow
Click Execute Workflow in N8N.
Once completed:
- Open
your Google Sheet
- You'll
see newly added fields like:
- Company
overview
- Recent
updates
- Suggested
solutions
- Email
subject
- Full
email content
- SMS
message
Your AI sales assistant is fully active!
